The Indian Visa application process has recently changed and the Indian High Commission has outsourced the issuing of Visas to V.F Services (UK) Ltd ("VFS").

Before you begin your application, please check the Indian High Commission website www.hcilondon.net for up-to-date application procedures.

Visa forms must be completed online at the following website: http://in.vfsglobal.co.uk. Please note that your application will not be accepted if your application form has not been completed online. Hand written application forms will not be accepted.

There are three ways in which you can apply for a visa; In person, by post or via a visa agency such as The Visa Company. If applying by post or in person, please ensure you read all information carefully as applications are now dealt with on a regional basis. If you are applying via The Visa Company, please read the guidance on their website.

VFS have been experiencing problems with their online payment system so please ensure you print/download your application and make a note of your web reference number before attempting to pay online.

Please ensure that your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your intended return date.

You will be required to provide two referees in India when applying for your Visa.

Visa applications can be made up to 3 months before you are due to travel to India. We suggest that you apply at least 8 weeks before you are due to travel as it can take 2-3 weeks to process your visa application.

Please make sure your passports have been validated with the relevant visa and that all of the information is correct.
