important to entrust a diving
centre that not only offers
knowledge and experience, but
also has an excellent reputation,
a good range of resources and
facilities, and the enthusiasm to
teach.
All our Diving Centres provide
tuition and instruction to an excellent standard, and every effort
is made to keep the divers to instructor ratio as low as possible.
We are providing an opportunity to book at the time of reservation
for a £5 non-refundable deposit. (Bookable under 'optional
Extras'). This secures your place and enables us to make the necessary
arrangements before you travel. It is compulsory to attend your welcome
meeting on arrival when, all details will be given to you by our
representative. The remainder of the costs listed below will be payable
locally (credit card payments accepted).
PADI Scuba Diver
Course — 3 days £179 + £20 Padi Card
This is the first level of Diver
certification. On completion you are licensed to dive at any Dive
Centre under the supervision of a PADI Divemaster to a maximum depth
of 12m. The course is run over 3 days (either in a row or on separate
days of your holiday) and involves confined and open-water dives,
and some evening study to complete the course theory. Certificate
holders then have 12 months in which to complete the remaining 2 days to
achieve the open water qualification. Minimum age: 10.
PADI Open Water
Course — 4 days £265 + £20 Padi Card
For those who want to dive that
little bit deeper, up to 18m, or who want the option to dive without
a Divemaster looking after them, this 4-day course comprises of five
confined water dives, four open water dives, plus theory, quizzes
and a final exam. Upon successful completion you will have the PADI
Open Water Diver certification card. Minimum age: 10.
All courses include instruction from fully qualified Instructors and equipment.
Course materials and certification fees can be purchased from the dive
centre. Lunch on board the dive boat and transfers to/from your hotel, are
also included.
Requirements: You must be in good health and a reasonably confident swimmer.
All qualified divers must present a valid certification card and logbook.
Insurance — Activities such as diving have
medical, training, or other requirements, which you should ensure
you are familiar with and it is your responsibility to comply with
those requirements. Divers on courses with European Diving Centre
are covered under their 3rd party liability insurance, however qualified
divers do need their own. It is also incumbent on you to ensure that
your Travel Insurance policy provides specific and adequate cover
in relation to higher risk activities. Click for Jewel

Medical — Completion of the Discover Scuba
/ Discover Scuba Diving Statement for beginners courses before entering
the water. Completion of the 'Liability
Release and Express Assumption of Risk', 'Medical Statement and History' and
'Standard Safe Diving Practices Statement of Understanding' for the Open Water
Courses.
We will send you a copy of the PADI medical questionnaire with your invoice. If
for any reason you do not receive a copy, you MUST contact us on 01293
533338. If any answers are a "YES", you will need to visit your doctor
and provide a medical certificate for your own health & safety. You will be asked
to sign a medical liability form in resort to confirm that you are in good health.
It is necessary to leave, 'an extended period greater than 12 hours', after your
last dive and your return flight to the U.K. (Please check up to date information
within the PADI manual).
