This fantastic guesthouse is
run by Edwin and his family who are sure to become firm friends
during your stay. Situated in a typical Goan
village, it is surrounded by local Goan houses, a
well-tended garden to the side, and there are
lots of little bars, shops, stalls and restaurants
within easy walking distance. Just opposite the
guesthouse is the popular bar and restaurant
called the 'Goan Village' which is also owned by
Edwin. The food is fantastic and is a real credit
to the amount of time and hard work put in by
this family.
The Sao Domingos is very close
to the River Sal where you can often see the local women
treading water as they fish with their feet for
mussels and clams. The sandy beach in
Cavelossim is a 10-minute walk and continues
down to Mobor Beach where the Holiday Inn
and Leela Palace are located and where the
River Sal meets the Arabian Sea. Edwin also has
his own beach shack and he will undoubtedly tell
you where to find it!
The twin and double-bedded rooms have an ensuite
shower & WC, ceiling fan, a balcony or terrace,
and are based on a Bed & Continental Breakfast
basis. Seven of the rooms have air-conditioning;
subject to availability on
arrival and payable locally. Several fridges
are offered for hire, subject to availability, plus
safety deposit boxes, payable locally. Edwin and
his staff work incredibly hard and are very proud
to offer excellent service. The Sao Domingos
Guesthouse is a firm favourite with our guests.
