This small and friendly boutique hotel with only
eighteen rooms was completed in August 2007.
The hotel is built to a very high standard and
every detail has been lovingly finished. The
hotel is located in the village of Betalbatim, quite
a unique village with houses painted in bright
colours, dark blue and orange, very different
from the other villages. The village’s claim to
fame is Martins Corner, probably the most
famous Goan restaurant in South Goa,
frequented by the Bollywood movie stars who
holiday in Goa. Both the hotel and the
restaurant are owned by the Pereira family.
The hotel has its own swimming pool with plenty
of space to sunbathe. As well as Martins Corner,
which is directly opposite the hotel, it has its own
small restaurant where breakfast is served.
The beach, which for obvious reasons is called
Sunset is a ten minute walk across the paddy
fields, or for those who prefer to take things
easy, the hotel provides transport twice a day to
the beach. When we were there the fishermen
were pulling in their very large net, which is
taken out by traditional Goan canoe, then
hauled back in by what seemed to be the whole
fishing community. It takes more than an hour
to pull it back in although the catch is not always
overwhelming.
The spacious and comfortable twin or double-bedded
rooms have air-conditioning (included),
ceiling fan, TV, en-suite bathroom with shower & WC,
hairdryer, mini bar and small kettle and safety
deposit box (included). Rooms are offered on a
Bed & Continental Breakfast basis.
This hotel is highly recommended and all our
clients staying here will be offered a 10%
discount when dining at the Martins Corner
restaurant.
