In our opinion the Don Jóao Resort is the nicest '2-jewel' hotel in Anjuna. Situated in a quiet position in the middle of Anjuna village yet close to the bars, shops, restaurants and Bohemian action that is associated with Anjuna. The Anjuna 'Wednesday Market' is a short distance away (the best sandy beach locally), and 'Ingo's Saturday Nite Bazaar' is an approx. 2km journey. A short walk to the right of the hotel will bring you to the Junction, always busy with something going on and then further to the rocky part of Anjuna Beach.

The hotel is built in a Portuguese style with large ornate balconies. There is a swimming pool where shade is provided by mango and coconut trees, plus the poolside restaurant, 'The Spice Garden', offers both local and international cuisine. The hotel has a 24-hour reception / T.V. lounge offering safety deposit boxes (payable locally).

The twin-bedded rooms (up to 3 can share), all have an entrance/seating area, ceiling fans, a fridge, en-suite shower & WC, and a balcony facing to the front. Air-conditioning is on request, subject to availability and payable locally. Board is offered on a Bed and Continental Breakfast basis and Christmas and New Year festive meals are included. This is a well-established hotel with British clients and ideal for those who just want to 'chill out'. The beach is half a mile away or can be reached by taxi, which costs around £1. Highly recommended for ex-hippies who are now too old to rough it!

36 rooms in 2 blocks on 3 floors.

Transfer time (approx) : 90 minutes.
