Ave Maria 1 Guesthouse

This wonderfully simple, family guesthouse is delightfully less than three minutes' walk from the golden sands of Candolim Beach. For beach lovers it is an ideal base. Nearby are many stalls, shops and restaurants and on the beach itself, many shacks from which to claim a sunbed and umbrella for the day for the price of a few drinks and a snack. The guesthouse has a small bar and restaurant, and this is its allure. The food is cooked by Maria and her daughters, Sharon and Veronica. Cymbeline and John Gaynor from Hoddesdon, like us, loved the food and we can honestly say it was one of our best meals in North Goa.

The twin rooms have an en-suite shower & WC, ceiling fan and some have a small balcony or terrace. All rooms are offered on a Bed & Continental Breakfast basis. Safety deposit boxes and a laundry service are available (payable locally), whilst fridges are on request, subject to availability and payable locally. The Ave Maria is ideal for people who just want to 'chill out' and enjoy seeing the world going by. Clients are welcome to use the swimming pool at the Ave Maria 2, just 50 metres away.

Ave Maria 2 Guesthouse

The Ave Maria 2 was completed in October 1999 and is owned and run by the Fernandez family and is just up the lane from the original guesthouse. There is a swimming pool to the front of the property surrounded by a lawn and a few sunbeds, it is enclosed, quiet and peaceful. There is a small pool bar and guests can use the superb restaurant at the Ave Maria 1, plus the safety deposit boxes for a small local charge. Candolim Beach is just five minutes walk away, if that, and there are a number of bars and restaurants around the area.

The twin bedded rooms have a ceiling fan, an en-suite shower & WC and a balcony or terrace. Fridges are on request, subject to availability and payable locally. Board is offered on a Bed & Continental breakfast basis. The Ave Maria 2 has established itself as a firm favourite with guests who want to have a base with a pool and be right on the beach.
