We have been using the Alagoa Guesthouse which was originally a twelve room hotel for some fifteen years. An additional twenty-four rooms have been built recently. This hotel is in a quiet location with paddy fields on one side and a coconut grove on the other. This guesthouse is in a wonderfully peaceful location and is ideal for those looking to really relax and get away from it all.
The open-air restaurant
and bar serves both Goan Indian and International
cuisine.
Since our last visit a swimming pool has been built in the middle of a coconut grove some 100 metres from the hotel. The design is very different with a small waterfall. It's a great place to sunbathe. To go down to the beach, which is absolutely superb, is approximately 600metres along a track past the Coconut Grove Hotel. The beach is quiet and as wide as two football pitches. The area is quiet and and ideal for people to sample how Goa was twenty years ago.
'Jewel' guests are accommodated in
the original block in the left of the hotel picture.
The spacious rooms are simply furnished
with twin beds, ceiling fans and en-suite shower and WC
and are mostly overlooking the paddy fields. Air-conditioning is subject to availablility and payable locally.
All rooms are offered on a Bed and Continental
breakfast basis.
36 rooms in 2 blocks.
Transfer time approximately: 55 minutes. |
